Digital Data

All the data from the HFDOPE project have been made available for scientific use. We have two different types of data, ".hf2 format" and ".bin format". The ".bin format" files contain all the raw wave form data. The ".hf2 format" files only store time-series of the Doppler shifts derived through FFT analysis of the original wave form data (i.e., .bin data). If you are interested in using our data resources for your research, please take a look at the rules of the road or contact us directly at hfd-all-ml @ uec.ac.jp
Python script for reading the .bin data from the analogue Rx system is available. The script plots the data in a format of dynamic spectra. Before testing the code in your analysis environment, please download a sample data in the .bin format.

Python script for reading the .bin data from the digital Rx system is also available. You can download the script including sample data files from here. If you unzip this file (tar zxfv example_dgl_bin.tgz), you will see one python3 code and sample data files in a directory DGL/AWJ/bin/2022. You can run the code as follows:

% python3 plot_bin.py 2022 04 14 5 AWJ

In this case, you plot the 5 MHz data on Apr 14, 2022 for the AWJ station like this. The top panel is the dynamic spectra and the following two panels respectively are the amplitude and Doppler shift calculated from the .bin files through FFT. Please note that we need to read consecutive data for three days (i.e., Apr 13-15) to do FFT at the start and end of the central day.
